I’d like to make another comment about Ghosts and a comment about Keep No Score. First, “Heaven Breaks” on “Keep No Score” is my favorite song lyrically by Sleeping At Last. I’m an older guy and I judge lyrics by two greats of Christian Music, Keith Green and Michael Card. “Heaven Breaks” has some of the most beautiful lyrics with profound truth I think I’ve ever heard. Sleeping at Last lyrics are among the best on any CD I’ve ever heard. Period. The way they’re sung only adds to their poignancy.
Secondly, I have a short list of CDs by artists that are classics, in my opinion, that should have catapulted the artist to instant continual airplay and fame. In the past, I could never figure out why artists like Phil Keaggy, PFR, Galactic Cowboy and Believable Picnic never made it huge. I revisit CDs by those artists over and over. “Keep No Score” has been added to that short list. It is an instant classic. I saw the band perform songs from the CD numerous times. It is music that crosses generational divides lyrically and sonically.
I’d buy a “REAL” vinyl album in a heartbeat of Ghosts.
it's a gloomy day outside around here. but still had a good day working on music. in your face, gloomy day. 8 hours ago
watched "life in a day" last night. it's an incredibly dynamic & real portrait of human beings. for better or worse, it stirred me up a lot. 13 hours ago
